Life-Changing Results for a Patient Who Feared Dentists

Mike was one of those patients whose fear of dentists meant that he delayed his care until the pain became unbearable. When he finally appealed to Dr. Seifi for help, his smile was devastated by decay and infection. The damage ranged from missing teeth to broken teeth and cracked, discolored teeth. His pain and knowledge that his smile was disfigured seriously sapped his enjoyment of life. 


Of course, Mike was unwilling to ever show his teeth in a smile. He also suffered constant pain and an inability to chew normally because of the broken and missing teeth. On top of that, he was afraid of dental work. Giving Mike a beautiful smile was going to be quite an undertaking. But it was one that Dr. Seifi was happy to take on. 

Examination and Encouragement 

An important part of Mike’s treatment was calming his nerves about dental work. Dr. Seifi reassured him she would approach his care with gentleness and patience and that she would inform him of every action she was going to take. Mike found these reassurances enabled him to agree to the full treatment plan.

Dr. Seifi’s examination showed that a few teeth could not be saved, so extractions with the specialist in Dr. Seifi’s office were planned. Half-broken teeth could be repaired with strong, durable crowns. And then the missing teeth would need replacement. 

Mike’s treatment began with addressing or extracting the teeth causing him pain. Then a few broken teeth were given crowns to preserve and protect them. 

Next, a plan was devised to replace the missing teeth. Dr. Seifi designed partial dentures for the back of his mouth and a fixed bridge for the front. 

The Final Touch

Now Mike had a full set of teeth so he could chew normally. And he was no longer in pain. While that was such great progress, he still had unevenly shaped and discolored teeth that showed when he smiled. This last situation was remedied with the placement of veneers.

What makes the result of Dr. Seifi’s treatment plan so remarkable is that to look at his smile, you would never know that Mike ever lacked a beautiful, natural smile. His teeth matched flawlessly in shape and color.

No longer did he have to experience the dismay of looking at his old, unsightly smile. And no longer did he have to suffer the pain of broken, infected teeth.
